Hanasaku Iroha Episode 7 review

My thoughts

Surprisingly, this episode was not as serious as I initially thought it to be, not to mention some moments were pretty funny. In contrast to my previous speculation on Tomoe being a former soldier, I really thought we’ll be digging her past and to get know more about her this episode. In fact, we did ; but not in very in-depth way as she isn’t exactly what I thought her to be. However, she did shine a lot this episode.

We also got a peek at her love life. In a female point of view, I think it’s a very sad thing when you’re still a single while all your friend are married. But I think she shouldn’t be worrying too much about that, well I should say gladly she didn’t. But for a male, I think it’s important to be successful and have a stable income first before you talk about getting married.

What i’m really glad about, however, is the fact that her plan to quit was somewhat backfired, and has found the will to work once again. I’m pleased that she felt alright in the end.

And this was the first time I ever see Minko this happy, so for once, this is a bitch-free episode. It’s really does make the show better if someone like her is being cheerful. Really wish she’ll stay like that, but we all know it is impossible unless she’s on good terms with Ohana. Apart from that, I really like the interactions between the characters this episode, and Tomoe is certainly a great commander, but in a rather comical way.

While this episode was very fun to watch, it made me wonder where did all the drama from episode one go? From the previews, next episode will definitely be a dramatic one, but will it be one episode only? Is this show going to continue on as a drama or slice of life? The question still remains. And I would say this episode was just a filler before the upcoming dramas as I still believe this show will eventually touch on the drama side. Heck, they still have 19 episodes, 19 chances left, so it’s really a long way before we can really judge this show. But on the worst case scenario, if it switches back to drama mode on the 23rd episode, that would be too late, don’t you think?

Another Lovely Spring Series : Ano Hana

Posted: 16 May 2011 06:36 AM PDT

No, this is not going to be another anime review. But as the tittle suggests – yes, this is in fact, one of my favorite shows this spring. So instead of posting a same old weekly review, i’ve decided to take a different approach. Heck, I believe One-Precinct had enough weekly anime reviews already.

Thus, i’ve decided that I should make use of the NSFW and Art category to post lovely pictures, fan arts or even scans of the series I love each season, especially those that I will never get to blog weekly due to my hectic Uni life.

Before I show you any of my picture collections of Ano Hana, do note that most of them consist of pictures of Anaru. Why? Well, she’s my favorite character of course! However, one or two of them may be somewhat NSFW, so please don’t mind about that.

I didn’t quite like Anaru at first, but she slowly grows on me as the series goes by. Unfortunately, there’s no love for Tsuroko though, she’s too bitchy at times. You can obviously see from the pictures i posted that there were a lot of cute pictures of Menma while there were none for Tsuruko at all !

There’s really nothing much I could write about here since this is an art post. But one thing for sure is that i’ll transcend my thoughts with a full review once this awesome show ends.
