Mawaru Penguindrum Ep. 8 |
Posted: 04 Sep 2011 06:10 AM PDT It's a bit hard to write out my thoughts on this episode simply cuz there's just so many things going on and it takes for everything to sink in. This week's Mawaru Penguindrum takes a rather more serious one compared to the previous episodes I believe. However, we get to see Himari! Does anyone miss her? She's so adorable. Poor brothers. They got punched and she's oblivious to what happened. Ha! Ringo has been taking centre stage since she shed her skin and revealed herself as creepy stalker. Will this star attention ends now that the diary has been torn apart into halves? In recent episodes, we see Ringo keeps getting one bad news after another. Tabuki's engagement. Her father's possible engagement. And frankly, I think she's reaching her limit. It's a bit hard to understand what's really going through her mind. Definitely different of how I see her in the second episode, in which she's so positive about fate and such. Her eyes looked almost soulless towards the end here. Even worse so when Shōma got hit by a car. Yes, our beloved twin is victim of a car accident. What is his fate now? Will he die? Will he miraculously walk away without a scratch? He looks dead though. But you'll never know. I gotta say, I'm most impressed with Shōma this week. I totally love his line "You're the craziest bitch I've ever met!". Spot on. Very true. Couldn't be better. That one line summed my opinion of Ringo very well. It's just that I might expressed it differently. He sounded angry. I wouldn't. Say, Shōma can really step up and get things done when it is needed. Of course, he's taking a different route from Kanba but that's what I like about him. He's gentle, in that sense. And understanding. Always wanting what's proper and right. The only thing is, how long can this last? As we all know the world of Penguindrum is rather dark. In order to survive, one may require to take unusual measures. Whatever that may be. All those dark and serious stuff aside, did Ringo really act out her fantasy? She looks funny standing in the middle of the road, holding up her diary as if she's just won a million dollar lottery. And Curry Mont Blanc. Seriously? Is it even edible? Oh wait, no it's not! Else you'll risk falling asleep with your face smudge with food! |
