Hi guys!

Even though we have ArashiX already done the first impression review for this anime series, I thought I want to voice out my own personal view about this anime. Feel free to do so too.

The Litrature

Cats and dogs do always fight. There are never ending war for them. This anime series is about them. Though I don’t really understand what the meaning by “Dog Days” term for this title, I personally think that in our otaku culture we’re so crazy about neko-chan, neko mimi, neko maid, whatever… Now it’s the dog days to be look kawaii.

But according to Romanian litrature (or whatever) this is the days in the summer where the Canis Major (a dog star) shine the brightest. Yeah, you got the idea. Dog shine, instead of kawaii neko chan.

Dog Days Episode 1 Highlights

Republic of Biscotti (dog race) are at war with Galette Leo Knights (a neko race). The Republic of Biscotti are about to lose the war until Millhiore hime-sama decide to summon a hero.

While from most anime series, it’s we from the real world summoning a creature from the other dimension this time they make it differently. It’s we human are summoned into the other dimension.

In this case it was Shinku Izumi, a young athletic guy who love to train himself.

The Rule of War

Just like an RPG games, the war have rules and funny rule. Stupid but kawaii I must say. Instead of die, the soldier who lose the fight will change into an avatar. From the episode 1 of Dog Days, they only shown how the Galette soldier changed into a neko ballon after being slain. Hmm… this mean they are SAFE FOR CHILDREN.

So have fun watching this with your imouto…

The Seiyu

Nana Mizuki is the only seiyu known to me in this anime series. Uh well, I don’t have that broad knowledge about seiyu am I?

Character Design is Familiar

I don’t know who is the original author of this anime series. Was it an adaption from manga? Light Novel? Visual Novel? Eroge? RPG Eroge? LOL

But I found Seraphim, Yuu, Haruna, and not only them but also girls from Tantei Opera Milky Holmes, and also Fortune Arterial? Mio Akiyama? Or is it just me? Haha

But who cares, they are all kawaii and I will continue watching this anime series. For now.

Personal Impression

Last episode?! I’m gonna miss this great series. I hope theres a continuation for this series. Back to the review, its the continuation of the last fight, where Laura shoot Silverio Gospel currently in sleep mode. Silverio Gospel activated and start to go wild once again. The compute technique of the Silverio Gospel is really magnificent. Although its an unmanned robot, the way it fight is on par or maybe surpass human capabilities. I like the way it shows the computes and calculation on its face and start to attack afterwards. Kinda cool though…

Shield(looks like the shield from code geass 2)

Somehow the Rafale Revive Custom II IS( Charlotte IS) shield somehow reminds me of Code Geass S2, Lancelot Albion shield. For the first round, Laura, Charlotte, Rin, Cecilia and Houki giving their best to win. Their combination also not bad. When Silverio Gospel in the edge of losing the fight, Silverio Gospel transform to second shift which looks like an angel with white wings.

With such awesomeness, Silverio Gospel is really a formidable opponent. Each of them taken down by the special attack of Silverio Gospel that somehow seems to be unstoppable and cant be block. I think this ability is kinda too strong. Blowing the enemy with a tornado fuse with energy particle. Even “albion” shield also cant block this attack…

Ichika met Houki

Cool entrance by Ichika? No, I thought when Houki is in a great danger, suddenly he blow or block the attack by his sword or something, but he let all of them defeated first?! After all of them been defeated, Ichika comes to the rescue. He met Houki to wake her up and say Happy Birhday to her! Oh, so thats why he is going to certain shop to buy something and thats a ribbon for Houki as present (Episode 9).

One off ability

One off ability triggers when a certain conditions are met. I’m not really sure what it is but it is a special ability. Houki IS, Akatsubaki can recharge back the energy shield to the maximum again. So bug… If they make a fighting game for this anime, I definitely choose Akatsubaki because of this ability as well as strong fighting capabilities and cool weapon. Each of IS may have this ability. For example, Ichika’s IS, Byakushiki can heal the wound of the user?! What the heck!

The preview fight of the first episode continued

As the first episode preview the fight of the final showdown, It is totally the same footage and doesnt have any different and only plus how it ends. Actually the fight is not that long. With the preview fight on the first episode, I can say the fight is not really epic because I’ve seen it already and the extended fight scene is too short. Ichika attack and defeat the enemy straight away…

Finally, he give a finishing blow to the Silverio Gospel. One thing I remember, Byakushiki’s left hand glowing(like Destiny Gundam from Gundam Seed Destiny) and blowing/dragging Silverio Gospel away to the shore. But how come Ichika’s change it to sword and this time major at right hand. His action just way too fast?! Hmm…

The lineup that shine the name of IS academy.

Starting with the left: Fan Rinin, Cecilia Alcott, Laura Bodewig, Charlotte Dunoa, Orimura Ichika, Shinonono Houki have shine IS academy? The story is center only among themselves and other student are off limit. Only on some occasion, other student can enter the scene(lol).

Tsundere Chifuyu

Actually they have been scolded by Chifuyu because of disobeying orders and fight the enemy recklessly. But after that, she glad that all of them are save. I’m also feel thankful to see Chifuyu tsun tsun character because of this event…

Chifuyu and Tabane

That night, Chifuyu and Tabane having a chat before tabane vanished. For some reason I was shocked that all of this is planned by Tabane herself. She make Silverio Gospel to went berserk without pilot so that her sister, Houki can take the glory after defeating it. The same things happen in the past, she hacked the super computer from another country to shoot missile for the white knight to make her name. So she is the key of all event.

Ichika who can’t resist Houki temptation finally choose Houki in the end. Houki win this time… I feel pity for other girls that continues try their best to win Ichika’s heart, but Ichika have no eyes for them. So, I will take them all…

Yandere Cecilia

After Ichika tried to kiss Houki, she stop Ichika’s head by using “fang” and begin her scary laugh. This moment quite hilarious. The same goes for Rin where she said she want to kill Ichika. Both of them becomes Yandere. Laura and Charlotte are still angry but not as angry as Cecilia and Rin though(turns to yandere).

Full Review

From episode one until the last episode, I think it is a good anime. Action, comedy, mecha, sci fi, shounen, and harem is my genre. So, who is trying to find all this genre, this is one of the best series.

Starts with the storyline, somehow, for me its like rushing but not too rush(A very mix feeling)..? The story that consist of 12 episode usually have less time to explain all the details. But I think all of it explain already? I’m not sure about it myself.

The character design is nice and I like them. ~~I even put it as my wallpaper(oops)~~… Body proportion, face and hair design are all well balance. But its not a really top notch design when it come to fighting scene.

The music and the OST is one of the things that I like in Infinite Stratos. Various voice actor performing the theme song makes the theme song great. I give thumbs up for this…

The things that I dislike in Infinite Stratos

The things that I don’t like in Infinite Stratos is limited episode. I think its better to extend to 24+ episode or maybe second season. The second thing is I don’t like the design of the IS user when it comes to the fight. The character design suddenly changes and lowered the resolution?! Looks like a game design that have very limited resolution. I like it better with the normal design though. Fanservice by Yamada sensei, totally dislike it. She’s too old to be a fanservice.

So overall I give;

Storyline: 6.5

Character design and artwork: 7

Music and OST: 9

Overall: 7.5

[1st Impression] Hanasaku Iroha: Episode 1

Think I’m going to enjoy this season and series. Why?

Impression

This anime wasn’t originally on my list, but after viewing it, I was blown away. Basically, it chronicles the life of a young girl named Ohana Matsumae, whose life is about to change from what she sees as dull and listless in a sense. Instead, why not enjoy one of ruin? You going to regret it…

What is wrong with a normal school life…?

However, due to her mother’s debt-beat boyfriend, they going to elope. Where is Ohana to go? Why live with dear, old grandma. That doesn’t sound too bad, right? Force to say good-bye to her friend.

Things look bright, but as she gets there turns into a big mess for her.

And old, grandma….Well, let say she isn’t a delicate flower. More like a fierce dragon! Wanting her to get to work to earn her keep at the Hot Spring Inn she owns. Ohana is in for a rude awaking….

She encounters a bunch of strange people that reside, work, and do business in the Inn. Trying to fit in is harder than expected….

However, upon trying to do a good deed for one of the people she angered earlier, Minko, only leads to more trouble and some discipline from old grandma.

Seems like things aren’t going to be easy for Ohana. Can she manage to pull it together…?

Final Thoughts

As aforementioned, this was a series I didn’t plan on, but going to watch. Seems like it is a coming-of-age tale gear toward a young adult and older demographic. It has some gorgeous art, already budding mature themes, and story that mirrors life in all it’s flavors. I definitely must recommend keeping up with this one and exactly what I will do. I have high hopes for this one. Seems like we have a real sleeper hit possibly to emerge from Spring 2011, but to early to say.

Note: Any One-precinct writer feel free to keep up with this series. I was just doing a quick write up, since I liked it. I will not be doing it again, so it is fair game.
