Gosick episode 9 review

Interesting arc…but will we say the same when it ends?

My thoughts

I’ll keep my thoughts short for this week as you can see that there’s not much things revealed to us on this episode. On top of that, i’ll keep things short because i’ve learned from my previous mistakes in my past reviews that my assumptions were most of the time, off the mark. Thus, i’ll be much more moderate from now on.

Also, do note that this arc started off differently from the others because previously the mysteries will only be known by Kujou or Victorique if Grevil tells them about it. Except for this time, Kujou found it out himself without Grevil knowing anything about it at all.

That being said, the employees , the owner of Jiantan with a blonde woman beside him, everything about Jiantan was indeed suspicious and it’s obvious that they’re doing something nasty and was trying to hide it. And there was this grey-haired girl which obviously knows everything that’s going on inside Jiantan. Other than those interesting parts in this episode, we do have a lot of moments where Victorique is sooo adorable. In fact, it was really a surprise that she actually stays in a cute pinkish house and to get there you need to get past a maze! Also, am i the only one who thinks Victorique’s singing was nice?

Thus, it was overall a very interesting episode and also a great start for a new arc. And judging from the preview of the next episode, it seemed to me like Victorique is still sick. If that’s the case, Kujou will just have to solve this arc’s mystery all by himself. In that way, he’ll finally be able to prove himself worthy to be the male protagonist of this show. Afterall, he’s the Imperial Soldier’s Son right *sarcastically saying* ? If not, Victorique will probably get well next episode and solve the mysteries in Jiantan once and for all ; be it an easy mystery as always, or an unexpectedly hard one. So who knows?

However, there was also this red-haired magician/Bryan Roscoe seen on the preview. So perhaps he’s also playing a role in this arc? Either ways, this arc has already gotten interesting enough, not sure with the mysteries though. But with him showing up next week, it will certainly spice things up.
