If last week's main theme is curry, this week's theme is erm…smelly skunk. That evil little creature appeared everywhere at just the right time. Awesome isn't it? Haha.

Someone must have heard my complain cuz there's no "Seizon Senryaku" this week. I'm pleased actually, although I know some of you disagree. For the record, it's not like I dislike the transformation sequence but it's boring to be seeing the same, old thing for the next 20 episodes. It's not a two seconds transformation. I think it's about one to two minutes.

Replacing the transformation sequence is the enjoyable fairy tale-like short musicals. While it's enjoyable, it's quite confusing. Some of the short musical is Ringo's own fantasy. Some of it actually happens like the caterpillar incident. It's hard to tell at first until the scene that comes after. I seldom see this sort of execution or presentation in anime so it's a welcoming gesture.

I'm still not 100% confident what a penguin drum is but I'm leaning towards the idea of it being the pink diary. Shoot, Shōma almost had it. It'll be interesting to see what happens if Ringo lost that book. Kanba might not have loads of screen time this week but there's this one thought from him that kind of dawned on me that Mawaru Penguindrum might turn out to be a chase after the mysterious penguin drum. If hat-sama is smart, she won't just rely on the brothers. Or maybe there are more similar spirits out there that are after the infamous penguin drum. There's a lot of room for development seeing that this series will be a mid-long series.

This week, Ringo failed to accomplish her "tasks". And she didn't know it. The important question here is what will happen now that a misstep has happened. Ringo's first kiss wasn't with Tabuki, and yet she stamped "destiny" as if she accomplished the written task. I foresee unfavorable situations on Ringo's part. Also, Yuri. What to think of her? A mere love rival of Ringo or something more? I sense dangerous aura coming from her.

The last bit of this week's episode really raised up the darkness level in Mawaru Penguindrum. As I mentioned before, this show isn't all bright and colorful. It has an underlying darker theme. Did Ringo just killed the woman in red heels so that she can keep believing she has achieved what was written in that pink diary? No one knows for sure. At least, not for now.

Now, now. This is starting to get really interesting.

Kamisama no Memochou Episode 4 review

I was surprised that Taj Mahal was mentioned in this episode. And is even used as a metaphor for boob sizes. Anyone of you here know what is Taj Mahal? XD Anyways, this is clearly a Minli centric episode and more of a filler to me ; not sure if this is included in the manga though as I never expect they’d add some depths to her character. We already know that her father left the shop for her and that should be it as I don’t think it’s necessary to dedicate an episode for that. But if I ignore the fact that this episode is quite a waste, I still enjoyed it’s humor nevertheless.

Anyways I think I won’t go through much about this episode in this post as it seems like everything is already a given. I initially though the stalker as a threat, probably a spy from another organization or something but it turns out that he’s just a random pervert dude with a stupid reason for barging into Minli’s shop. Pretty ridiculous I would say, and her comments on Minli’s T-cup boobs were priceless – Taj Mahal standard lol.

And it seems like Minli’s father is a super human of some sort. With his skill, I think he’d perform an assassination perfectly. And I thought he’s just some random middle-aged men trolling Minli’s shop. But hey..did her father really changed so much that she couldn’t recognize her anymore? That’s unbelievable. But still, it was nice of him to still remember her daughter and the shop. And even prepared materials to improve the soup.

Aside from that, out of all the side character, I would say that I like Hitoshi the most. I admire the fact that he’s a very strategic guy and someone who’s very good at gadgets, devices and such. He’s probably a huge counter strike fan as it seems like he likes military stuff very much. The highlight of this episode would be his flash bang that looks like tennis ball – that was very cool and i’d really like to have one of those.

Another thing that interests me in this episode however, was the preview for this episode. This guy on the above picture looks like kinda like Tsuchimikado from Index don’t you think? And he better be an interesting character ; a villain for the next arc. And probably has something to do with “Angel Fix”. Come on Kami Memo! I know you can do better than this episode!
